This page is dedicated to the Blue Moon Ramblers.
Founded by our leader and center of our universe, banjo player George Usinowitcz, the Ramblers have the longest running gig in Durango. Every Sunday night at the Diamond Belle Saloon in the historic Strater Hotel for the past 20 years.
Though the group has gone through changes, George and fiddle player Marlon "Red" Greer have been there since the beginning.
The current lineup includes as well, our old friend Jenny Winegardner on bass and guitar, and of course me.
This is my second tour of duty. I first started playing with them about 12 years ago and except for a 2 year sabatical, have been with them ever since.
The songs on this page were recorded at a live concert we did a little while back in the Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College. A pretty upscale venue for the Ramblers. Sort of Durango's version of Carnegie Hall.
Jenny was able to play guitar this night thanks to our friend Glenn Keefe who filled in nicely on bass.
It was a really nice event and I'm glad we were able to document it through these recordings.
Hope you like this sampling of tunes.
